Download and install the Expert Advisor in the MetaTrader 5 trading terminal. For example, download the free
FourAverage Expert Advisor from the indicator review page. This method is suitable for any website on the Internet. The exception is the official MQL5 market, where downloads take place directly to the terminal. Be careful and do not download files from unknown sites, it may damage your computer or even your bank account!
1) Click download and the Expert Advisor file with the ex5 extension ends up in the Downloads folder of your browser.
2) Go to the Downloads folder and copy the file to the clipboard.
3) Open the MetaTrader 5 terminal and go to the folder of the physical location of the experts.
4) Insert the expert file into the root of the "Experts" folder. For convenience, you can create additional subdirectories in this folder.
5) Go back to the terminal and right-click in the navigator window, and then select "update".
6) Congratulations, the Expert Advisor is installed in the MetaTrader 5 trading terminal!
Now we can switch to the strategy tester and test or optimize the Expert Advisor we downloaded.
Always check the trading robots in the strategy tester before launching them on a live account. Ideally, use 4 steps: tester, demo account, real account with minimum lot, real account. Remember, different brokers may have different conditions and unnecessary checks never hurt.
